Hosting for Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Pretoria
South African businesses in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban build for a local audience and, increasingly, for customers overseas — tourism operators, wine exporters, software teams and agencies working with European clients. For the overseas share, European servers are a close fit; for the local share we explain the trade-off honestly below.
Our day runs 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM South African time, so the working morning and early afternoon in South Africa overlap with a live team.
What South African teams run on HostConnect
Tourism, wine and export businesses

Online stores and service companies
Managed WooCommerce hosting for a new store, a VPS with dedicated CPU and RAM for busy ones, free migration from your current host.
Agencies and developers
cPanel Cloud Servers with unlimited accounts for client websites, and root-access KVM VPS for custom applications.

A South African host or international hosting?
A local host is the better choice if your visitors are nearly all in South Africa and you need the fastest possible uncached responses, you want to pay in rand, or your clients expect in-country data. South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) has rules for cross-border transfers of personal information — confirm the position for your business with an adviser.
International hosting works if your audience is global or European, your site is mostly cacheable, or you want enterprise NVMe hardware and root access at a dollar price.
What we run — servers in Germany and Finland, LiteSpeed caching, free SSL and free migration. We do not run servers in South Africa, and we do not bill in rand.
Local domain extensions — .co.za and .za are the usual choices for a South African audience. Use the domain search to see which extensions are available; country extensions can carry eligibility rules set by their registry.
South Africa hosting FAQs
Our servers are in enterprise data centres in Germany and Finland (Hetzner infrastructure). We do not run servers inside South Africa. If every visitor is local and the lowest possible latency is the only thing that matters, a host with a local data centre will serve that case better; if your audience is regional or international, or you need real root access and enterprise NVMe hardware at this price, our servers are the stronger choice.
You can pay by international debit or credit card, direct bank transfer, or cryptocurrency. Invoices are issued in US dollars, so your bank or card issuer converts from the South African rand (ZAR) at its own rate — there is no converted price to change between basket and payment.
Yes. Send us your current hosting login and our team moves your files, databases and email accounts across at no cost. We test everything on our servers first and only change your DNS once the site is confirmed working.
Use the domain search on our homepage to check which extensions are available for registration. You can also keep a domain registered elsewhere and simply point its DNS at your hosting with us.
No. Invoices are in US dollars and your bank or card issuer converts from rand, so the dollar price you see stays fixed even when the exchange rate moves.
